How to Make Pesto Pasta Salad !



To prepare a delicious pesto pasta salad, follow these steps: 


1. Assemble your ingredients: 

- 1 lb (454 g) pasta of your choice (penne, fusilli, or bow tie work well) 

- 2 cups (60 g) fresh basil leaves 

– 1/2 cup (75 g) pine nuts or walnuts 

– minced garlic 3 cloves  

– 1/2 cup (120 ml) extra virgin olive oil 

– grated 1/2 cup (50 g) parmesan cheese 

– salt and pepper to taste 

- 1 cup (150 g) cherry tomatoes, halved 

- 1 cup (150 g) fresh mozzarella balls, halved 

- 1/4 cup (30 g) chopped black olives 

- 1/4 cup (30 g) sliced ​​green olives 

-  chopped red onion 1/4 cup (30 g) 

- Optional:  grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein 1 cup (150 g) 


2. Boil the pasta: 

Place 

 in a large pot. Bring salted water to a boil and cook  pasta to al dente according to package directions. Drain the pasta and rinse  with cold water to stop the cooking process. Set  aside to cool. 


3. Prepare Pesto: In a 

 food processor, combine  fresh basil leaves, pine nuts or walnuts, chopped garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Pulse until  ingredients are finely chopped. With the food processor running, slowly pour in the olive oil until the mixture is smooth and well blended. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and shred a few more times to mix. Taste and season as desired. 


4. Mix  pasta and pesto: 

In a large bowl, combine chilled pasta and fresh pesto. Toss the pasta until  evenly coated with the pesto sauce. 


5. Add  vegetables and mozzarella: 

To a bowl of pesto-covered pasta, halve cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella balls, sliced ​​black olives, sliced ​​green olives, and finely chopped red. Mix in the onions. Mix everything gently so that the ingredients are evenly distributed. 


6. Optional Protein Addition: 

If desired, add grilled chicken or shrimp to the pasta salad for a richer, more filling flavor. 


7. Serve Chilled: Cover 

Pasta Salad and refrigerate  for at least 30 minutes to set flavors. Stir again before serving and check for spices. Add  salt and pepper as desired. Serve the pesto pasta salad chilled.
